Key points for plastic mold assembly

Time:

2024-04-10

There are many types of plastic molds, and even for the same type of mold, due to different types of formed plastics, the initial and accuracy requirements are different, and the installation methods are also not the same. Therefore, before assembly, careful research and analysis of the overall assembly drawing and part drawing should be carried out to understand the effects, characteristics, and skill requirements of each part, and confirm the installation benchmark. After installation, all quality indicators of the product, mold action accuracy, and various skill requirements during use should be comprehensively achieved
1. Installation benchmark, which can be roughly divided into
(1) The main working parts in the plastic mold, such as the core, cavity, and inlay, are used as installation reference parts, while other parts of the mold are manufactured and installed with installation reference parts
(2) Use the template side base surface of the guide pillar guide sleeve or mold as the installation reference surface for trimming and installation
2. Mold installation accuracy, including mold installation accuracy
(1) The mutual precision of each component, such as distance scale accuracy, coaxiality, equality, straightness, etc
(2) Relative motion accuracy, such as transmission accuracy, linear motion accuracy, and reverse motion accuracy
(3) Collaboration accuracy and touch accuracy, such as cooperation gaps, interference levels, and touch conditions
(4) The wall thickness of plastic formed parts. When making a new mold, the wall thickness of the formed part should deviate from the lower limit of the scale
3. Repair principles
(1) Repair the demolding slope, and in principle, the cavity should ensure that the large end scale is within the standard range of the workpiece scale. The core should ensure that the small carbonyl scale is within the standard range of the workpiece scale
(2) The radius of the rounded corners should be smaller for the cavity and larger for the core.
(3) When the mold has both a horizontal and a straight parting surface, the correction should be made so that there is a slight gap on the horizontal parting surface when touching the vertical parting surface. The gap value depends on the size of the mold. Small molds only need to be painted red and touched with each other, while large molds have a gap of about 0.02mm
(4) For molds with inclined surfaces, there should be a gap of 0.02-0.03mm at the parting surface after the inclined surfaces are tightly sealed
(5) The connection between the arc and straight line of the repaired surface should be smooth, and there should be no dents on the surface. The filing pattern should be consistent with the direction of the mold opening
